About Alinea

Founded in 2019, Alinea is an international architecture and interior design practice specializing in luxury hospitality, regenerative tourism, and residential design.

With experience gained in South Africa and across greater Africa, as well as over half a decade spent in Barcelona, Spain, we have developed a deep understanding of community and the transformative power of architecture. Our approach blends deep local insight with a global design perspective, allowing us to create bespoke, world-class projects that challenge convention and speak to the soul of each site.

The Meaning Behind the Name

The name Alinea is derived from the typographic symbol (¶), which signifies the beginning of a new paragraph or section of text. In the context of architecture, it represents alignment, precision, and a fresh start — key principles that define our design approach.
